There are many different types of leather available today, from aniline and semi-aniline through to pigmented leather, and each needs to be cleaned and cared for correctly. Professional leather cleaning plays an important role in maintaining the appearance of your leather furniture or car interior and, when carried out regularly, helps to prolong the life of the leather. As a general guide, leather should be professionally cleaned around once a year to keep it in peak condition.

In some circumstances, grease and body oils can build up in contact areas due to general use and lack of maintenance. This is most common on headrests, arm areas and seat pads. Over time, this build-up can begin to break down the leather’s surface finish, painted surfaces and in extreme cases cause the leather to disintegrate

We use specialist products and techniques to remove grease and heavy soiling. However, in nearly all cases, grease removal can require areas where leather restoration of colour is needed or in the extreme cases, a panel replacement may be required.* We are also often able to reduce or remove ink, pen and everyday stains. Occasionally, colour restoration work may be needed to fully disguise staining.

* Please note: full grease removal cannot be guaranteed if the leather has already been damaged beneath the surface. While restoration may resolve the issue, it is possible for staining or damage to reappear over time.

Option 1 – Leather Clean & Protector Cream

The leather is carefully cleaned by hand to remove built-up soils and surface contaminants. Once dry, a professional protection cream is applied by hand and buffed to a natural sheen. All areas of the furniture are cleaned and protected, including fronts, backs and sides, helping to reduce everyday soiling and staining.

Option 2 – Leather Clean & Protective Finish

The leather is cleaned by hand to remove built-up dirt and contaminants. Once dry, the leather’s original clear protective finish is reapplied using an HVLP spray system (see image). This process restores a strong, water-resistant protective layer to the leather and is suitable for pigmented leather only.
