It’s sometimes a little hard to explain in detail just quite what goes into certain projects we come across. So we try and create little blogs to explain the projects in greater details.
We were asked by our latest clients to try and salvage their fireside armchairs. The armchairs had been in use for many years and whilst the main bodies were in good order apart from some colour loss the arms had become brittle, torn and ripped and basicaly unrepairable.
After an intial visit, we formulated a plan and agreed to change the upper part of the arms with new leather, unpick the damaged section and resew new deluxe leather into the original positions. New leather in white was ordered (why white you ask? find out below) and Jenny then set to work……..
After new leather was sewn into all 4 arms. I sprang into action, we used white leather as it gave us a neutral colour to apply the green pigment too. After scanning the colour with the spectrometer and prepping and re spraying the white covered arms. This was the finished result………
Now complete, all 4 arms were taken back. We cleaned and mixed up additional pigment to re spray the contact areas on the armchairs, so base cushions and front and rear cushions to give a fresh new look and complete the leather panel replacement project. Everything was finished with a new clear coat to protect the paintwork for many years to come.
The clients were over the moon, and it goes to show you what is possible. So if you have a project in mind then why not fill in the contact form or give us a call.
Signing off…….
